Corporate Design or CorpDes was an experimental immersive cinema that placed a visitor as an inspector of a mundane office to shine light on the negative culture of office life. By gathering 40+ students to rebel against a Critical Design course to question what boundaries can be pushed by a set of students, it made an educated and complex comment that traditional office life drains creative freedom out of individuals.
By acting in satire and developing a whole office from cardboard including a vending machine full of objects that aroused speculation on problems within office life including; Male Vs Female water cups priced in relation to the gender pay gap. Individuals were able to inoculate themselves within the mundane to highlight what is corrupt in existing office spaces.
CAD (Cardboard Aided Design) rapid response to build a 60+ member office with departments using house-hold materials.
Speculative Vending Machine with objects that make comment on traditional office life.
Board meetings replaced with traditional lectures used to define our own education.
Objects such as a ‘Take a Break Cigarette’ made light of the expense on our bodies and minds that traditional offices exaggerate.
The final reveal after 4 weeks of hiding showing the films that were made during the project.
